Last Updated: August 2026

1. Introduction and Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding contract between you and Casting Crowd Limited ("we," "us," "our"), governing your access to and use of the Casting Crowd platform ("Platform"). The Platform connects production companies, casting agents, agencies, and background actors across the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, India, and additional jurisdictions.

Creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using any part of the Platform constitutes your acceptance of these Terms in full. If any provision is unacceptable to you, do not use the Platform.

Casting Crowd Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 16975080, with its registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE.

2. Strictly 18+ Only — Eligibility

The Platform is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. No person under the age of 18 may create an account, access Platform features, or submit personal information under any circumstances.

By registering, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under the laws of your jurisdiction. Account creation by anyone under 18 constitutes a material breach of these Terms.

If we determine that an account holder is under 18, or that an account was created on behalf of a person under 18, we will terminate that profile immediately, purge all associated data from our active systems and backups, and bar the individual from future registration. No refund, credit, or compensation is owed in such circumstances, regardless of any fees previously paid.

Misrepresenting your age to gain access to the Platform is treated as fraudulent conduct and may result in permanent exclusion plus referral to the relevant authorities where required by law.

3. Account Registration and Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity occurring under your account, whether authorised or not
  • Notifying us without delay of any suspected unauthorised access
  • Keeping all profile and contact information accurate and current
  • Ensuring that your use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

4. User Roles and Responsibilities

4.1 Casting Agents, Agencies, and Production Companies

  • Provide truthful, current information about every casting opportunity you post
  • Treat all actors with professional respect and conduct casting processes fairly
  • Comply with applicable employment, labour, and anti-discrimination laws in your jurisdiction
  • Honour confirmed bookings and communicate scheduling changes promptly
  • Process payments to actors on agreed terms and timelines
  • Refrain from any form of discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic

4.2 Background Actors and Supporting Artists

  • Provide accurate profile information, including measurements and availability
  • Upload genuine, recent photographs and professional materials that fairly represent your appearance and abilities
  • Respond to availability checks within a reasonable timeframe
  • Honour confirmed bookings or give adequate notice of cancellation
  • Behave professionally on set and follow production guidelines
  • Do not misrepresent your skills, experience, or qualifications

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform, including photographs, videos, showreels, CVs, and written descriptions ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant Casting Crowd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for operating and promoting the Platform.

5.2 Prohibited Content

You must not upload content that:

  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains false, misleading, or defamatory material
  • Is obscene, threatening, or otherwise unlawful
  • Depicts or relates to any person under the age of 18
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction

6. Payments and Fees

The Platform facilitates connections between casting professionals and actors. Payment arrangements for bookings are made directly between agents or production companies and actors. Casting Crowd does not act as an employer, payroll provider, or escrow agent for booking payments.

Certain Platform features carry separate fees. Biometric identity verification is offered as a one-off purchase at the displayed price, processed through our third-party payment provider (Stripe). This fee is non-refundable once the verification process has been initiated, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.

Agents and production companies remain solely responsible for ensuring that all payments to actors comply with local employment, tax, and labour laws in the relevant jurisdiction.

7. Prohibited Conduct

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse any other user
  • Discriminate against any person on the basis of a protected characteristic
  • Use the Platform for any illegal or unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform or other users' accounts
  • Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam through the Platform
  • Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or professional affiliations
  • Scrape, data mine, or extract Platform data using automated tools
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's intended operation
  • Create an account on behalf of, or for the use of, any person under 18

8. Dispute Resolution

Where a dispute arises between users, we encourage direct, good-faith resolution. Casting Crowd may offer facilitation on request but bears no obligation to mediate or resolve inter-user disputes.

Disputes involving Casting Crowd should first be pursued through informal negotiation. Where negotiation fails, the governing law provisions in Section 11 determine the forum for formal proceedings.

Users in India may escalate unresolved grievances through the grievance redressal mechanism described in Section 13.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Casting Crowd does not guarantee:

  • The accuracy or completeness of user profiles or casting listings
  • Successful casting matches or employment outcomes
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service availability
  • That any identified defect will be corrected within a specific timeframe

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Casting Crowd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.

10. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms, including any misrepresentation of age
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity
  • Extended inactivity as determined by our account policies
  • Any other reason we consider necessary to protect the Platform or its users

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@castingcrowd.com. Account closure does not absolve you of obligations accrued prior to termination.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales for users in the United Kingdom. For users in the United States, the consumer protection laws of the user's state of residence apply alongside these Terms. For users in Canada, the applicable federal and provincial laws, including PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, apply. For users in India, the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, apply.

Any legal proceedings arising under these Terms shall be brought in the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.

12. Regional Consumer Rights

United States — CCPA and CPRA

Residents of California and other states with active consumer privacy laws have the right to know, access, and request deletion of their personal information. You may opt out of the sale or sharing of data for targeted advertising and limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information.

This data is used solely for casting match optimisation and is never shared with third parties for advertising.

Biometric processing: The Platform does not use automated biometric mathematical facial geometric mapping to scan, index, or track faces. Where any biometric processing is introduced in the future, it will require a separate, explicit notice and standalone consent before activation.

To exercise any CCPA/CPRA rights, contact privacy@castingcrowd.com.

Canada — PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25

Canadian users are entitled to meaningful consent regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you may access, correct, and withdraw consent for the processing of your data, and receive notification in the event of a breach.

Where consent is required, it is obtained separately and is not a condition of service beyond what is necessary to provide the Platform's core features.
